Effective July 17, firefighters Kevin Greene and Aaron Fraker were promoted to the rank of captain with their swearing-in ceremony taking place tomorrow, July 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the Martinsville Fire Department.
According to Fire Chief Terry Anderson, Greene and Fraker are great team members. “Both Kevin and Aaron bring a new and young perspective to our department and I look forward to working with them as they assume more responsibilities in their rank as captains.”
Greene started his fire service career in 1997 with the Washington Township Fire Department, leaving there in 2002. He accepted a full-time position with the Martinsville Fire Department in 2009 and is an Indiana State certified Emergency Medical Technician Basic, Firefighter I/II, Driver/Operator, Instructor I and Fire Officer Strategy/Tactics.
A 1992 Martinsville High School and 1996 Purdue University graduate, Greene has a bachelor’s degree in landscape and horticulture. He is the son of Richard and Sharon Greene, married to Melissa Owens and together they have four children.
Greene is a member of the Martinsville Professional Firefighters Local 4214, serves as the Morgan County Fair Board superintendent, 4-H junior leader advisor and owns and operates Gather Around the BBQ. Fraker began his career in the fire service in 2000 as a volunteer firefighter with the Martinsville Fire Department. In 2004, he took a full-time firefighter position with the Decatur Township Fire Department in Marion County where he received numerous commendations and was chosen as the 2010 Firefighter of the Year.
In mid-2012, he came on board full-time with the Martinsville Fire Department. He is an Indiana State certified Emergency Medical Technician Basic, Firefighter I/II, Safety Officer, Driver/Operator, Fire Officer I, Instructor I and Fire Officer Strategy/Tactics.
A 2001 Martinsville High School graduate, Fraker is the son of Tim and Debbie Fraker. He is married to Stephanie McPike and they have three children. Fraker currently serves as president of the Martinsville Professional Firefighters Local 4214 and is involved with local youth sports.
