INDIANAPOLIS – Accelerate Indiana Municipalities (Aim) announced today that Martinsville Mayor Shannon Kohl was elected to serve on the Aim Board of Directors effective immediately. Kohl was elected by the Aim membership during the 2017 Aim Ideas Summit in Evansville last month.
“Shannon is a talented, dedicated public servant who cares deeply about her community and the health of all Hoosier cities and towns. She will be a tremendous asset on the Aim Board of Directors,” said Aim CEO Matt Greller.
Kohl’s term will run through December 2018. She is filling out the term of former LaPorte Mayor Blair Milo. Milo resigned in 2017 to become Governor Holcomb’s Secretary of Career Connections and Talent. The Aim Board of Directors is made up of 32 Indiana mayors, clerk- treasurers, council members and town managers.
“I am honored and proud to represent the City of Martinsville on Aim’s Board of Directors. I look forward to learning from and working with my fellow mayors on the Board as well as Aim’s talented and dedicated team of professionals. As a community, Martinsville is on the cusp of doing what Aim has done as an organization. We are evolving, reimagining who we are and what we can become as a strong community moving forward with a bright future,” Kohl said.
