MINUTES

A motion was made by Boardmember Eric Bowlen to accept the Minutes of September 17, 2018.  Mayor Shannon Kohl seconded the motion.  The Motion passes 2-0.  Boardmember Terry Buster abstained due to absence.

NEW BUSINESS

Proposal for Roger’s Building Demo – City Engineer Josh Messmer presented a quote from Silver Creek, Inc. for engineering services for the demolition of the single story building at the Rogers Block Building.  The amount of the proposal is $11,000.00 and will be paid from bonds proceeds from 2011, Fund 190.

Resolution 2018-531 / SCI REMC Lease Negotiations – City Engineer Josh Messmer reported during the requests for proposals to lease the Rogers property, SCI REMC was the only proposal the City received.  SCI REMC may agree to a lease of 14,500 square feet at a rate of $1.95 per square foot.  A motion to accept and allow the negotiations was made by Boardmember Eric Bowlen.  Boardmember Terry Buster seconded the motion.  The Motion passes 3-0.

Lease of a Portion of Roger’s Building / MTEK – A motion to accept and allow MTEK to lease a portion of the Roger’s Building was made by Boardmember Eric Bowlen with Mayor Kohl seconding.  The Motion passes 3-0.

Parks Department – Jeremiah Ferran of the Parks Department, appeared to ask the Board of Works for permission to trade in surplus lawn equipment for other equipment at Haltom Equipment in Mooresville.  A motion to allow the trade of equipment was made by Boardmember Eric Bowlen.  Boardmember Terry Buster seconded the motion.  The Motion passes 3-0.

A discussion of needed maintenance for the pool resulted in the item being moved to October 22, 2018.
