MINUTES

A motion was made by Boardmember Eric Bowlen to accept the Minutes of April 22, 2019.  Boardmember Terry Buster seconded the motion.  The Motion passes 3-0.

NEW BUSINESS

Emergency Storm / Sanitary Work in Alley Behind Boren Oliver & Coffey – DPW Craig DeMott reported Roberts Construction started on this job a couple of weeks ago.  As the project progressed, it was discovered both the Stormwater and sanitary lines had caved in.  A motion to declare this project an emergency was made by Boardmember Eric Bowlen.  Boardmember Terry Buster seconded the motion.  The Motion passes 3-0.

Lexis Nexis Incentives – Moved to Council Agenda.

Jackson Street Notice to Proceed –  DPW Craig DeMott stated City Engineer Josh Messmer has met with Roberts Construction and went over the scope of the project.  DeMott has the performance bond.  He is requesting the Board of works allow the notice to proceed.  A motion to accept and allow was made by Boardmember Eric Bowlen. Boardmember Terry Buster seconded the motion.  The Motion passes 3-0. 

Jackson Street Contract – DPW Craig DeMott requested the Board of Works approve the contract for Roberts Construction for the Jackson Street project.  A Motion to accept and allow was made by Boardmember Eric Bowlen.  Boardmember Terry Buster seconded the motion.  The Motion passes 3-0

The following items were not on the Agenda, but was heard

Retirement of K-9 Dasko – City Attorney Anne Cowgur asked Police Chief Rodger Wiltermood to explain.  Chief Wiltermood reported K-9 Officer Dasko is ready for retirement. It is common practice that when a K-9 is retired, his handler adopts her.  Wiltermood asked the Board to accept the retirement of Dasko, to allow her to be declared surplus and allow her handler, Officer Blake Long to adopt her.  A motion to accept and allow was made by Boardmember Eric Bowlen with Boardmember Terry Buster seconding the motion.  The Motion passes 3-0.  It was also announced; the City’s newest K-9 is Jada.

Artesian Little League Memo of Understanding – City Attorney Anne Cowgur said the current agreement expired on May 1st.  Details are still being worked on.  Cowgur requested the MoU be extended until June 1st.  A motion to accept and allow was made by Boardmember Eric Bowlen.  Boardmember Terry Buster seconded the motion.  The Motion passes 3-0.

SEWER ADJUSTMENTS

A motion to accept and allow the adjustments was by Boardmember Eric Bowlen.  Boardmember Terry Buster seconded the motion. The Motion passes 3-0.
