A regular meeting of the Martinsville Redevelopment Commission (RDC) met at 7:30 am on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, in the Council Chambers at Martinsville City Hall.
Roll Call:
Commission members: Dair Grant, Phil Deckard Sr, Al Myers, Rich Griswold, were in attendance. Also in attendance were Dakota VanLeeuwen, Mayor Costin, Gary Oakes, Don Lipps, Troy Swan, Lance Gideon, Reporter-Times. RDC member Paul Lauck was absent.

After meeting called to order, Mayor Costin administered the oath for new RDC member RIch Griswold
Approval of Minutes:
The minutes of the April meeting were discussed.
Motion to approve April minutes was made by Phil Deckard. Second by Al Myers .
Motion approved 4-0
Approval of Claims:
Motion to approve April claims of $2536.99 Motion made by Al Myers. Seconded by Phil Deckard Approved 4-0

Engineer’s Report:
Martinsville Director of Planning and Engineering Gary Oakes stated that the city is currently working on acquiring properties along South St. As of present the city has acquired 14 of the 27 properties to complete the South St. Project.
Oakes also talked of the Ohio Street and I37-69 intersection flood plain. With Sator Ditch upgraded it should increase the city’s flood plain by 17 inches for that area.
Motion to approve purchase for 56 E. Morgan St Martinsville, Ind for price of $190,000 Motion made by Al Myers. Seconded by Phil Deckard Motion approved 4-0

Financial Advisor Jeff Peters reported that the RDC recently closed on more than $14 million in bond money at a rate of 2.45%
Attorney Report:
Working on Smoothie Shop 56 E. Morgan acquisition should be closed by the end of May.
