Planning Commission Meeting Minutes – March 22, 2022

In the absence of Chairman Tom Williams, Vice-Chairman Ben Rawlins  called the meeting of the Martinsville Plan Commission to order at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Martinsville, IN.

ROLL CALL:   

Those members present were:

  • Troy Swan
  • Rachel Tuttle

Absent:  Gary Carrell and Tom Williams

Also present:    Dale Coffey, Attorney, Bob Strader, Building Inspector

PRESENTATION OF MINUTES: 

MOTION:  Following two amendments a motion was made by Troy Swan and seconded by Ann Miller to approve the minutes of the February 22, 2022, meeting of the Plan Commission.   This motion passed unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS:

Docket #PC22001:  Secondary Plat Approval:  Hanna Farms Subdivision Section 1. 

Owner:  R&M Hanna Farms, Inc.; Buyer in contract:  Forestar (USA) Real Estate Group Inc.; Melissa Garrard, Entitlements Manager.

Melissa Garrard made the presentation to the Plan Commission.   Ms. Garrard told the Plan Commission that the land to the east will be purchased later, and she will return in nine months to start on lots closer to the road.

REMONSTRATORS:   None.

Commissioner Ann Miller asked about a lift station for sanitary sewers.

City Engineer Troy Swan reported there are two large retention sites contingent upon  contractor and review by a third party.

MOTION:   Katie Barnard motioned for secondary plat approval of the Hanna Farms Subdivision Section l contingent upon approval review by a third party.   The motion was seconded by Ann Miller and passed.   Troy Swan recused himself from the vote.

OTHER BUSINESS:   None.

NEXT MEETING:       The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Martinsville Plan Commission will be at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, April 26, 2022.

ADJOURNMENT:  There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned with a motion made by Ann Miller, seconded by Troy Swan, and passed unanimously.
