MAYOR’S COMMENTS
Mayor Costin announced the removal of barricades at Plaza Drive. The street was closed during road construction.
STAFF REPORTS
Director of Planning and Engineering Gary Oakes discussed annual inspections for stormwater drains. Holloway Engineering is assisting with the inspections.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
110 N. Main Street / Additional Handicapped Parking Spaces – Superintendent Mac Dunn proposed adding one additional handicapped parking spaces in the area of 110 N. Main Street. A discussion led to an agreement of adding one additional space plus a 15 Minute limit for a loading zone. A motion to accept and allow as made by Board member Kelly Bray. Board member John Lillywhite seconded the motion. The Motion passes 3-0.
NEW BUSINESS
Consideration of Sending Tort Claim to Insurance Provider – A motion to send a tort claim to the City’s insurance provider was made by Board member John Lillywhite. Board member Kelly Bray seconded the motion. The Motion passes 3-
County Request to Regarding Mulberry Street – Representing the County were Josh Messmer, Eric Ratts and Brian Collier. Collier asked the Board to allow a one-block area of Mulberry Street to be closed for 30 months during construction. A motion to accept and allow was made by Board member Kelly Bray. Board member John Lillywhite seconded the motion. The Motion passes 3-0.
Opening of Bids for Demolition
- 90 S. Sycamore Street (former detectives building) – Building Inspector Bod Strader opened the following bids: Lafary Group, $5,900.00 and Denny’s $27,000.00.
- 110 W. Morgan Street (former Public Safety Building) – Building Inspector Bob Strader opened the following bids: Lafary Group, $36,200; Denny’s $112,000.00 and Gentry’s $74, 000.00.
Bids will be taken under advisement with action planned on July 27, 2022.
