Learn more about the City of Martinsville Parks, reserve a park facility, and register for events on the Martinsville Parks website.
Beginning with the establishment of our largest park, Jimmy Nash City Park on approximately 110-acres in 1947, Martinsville has a proud history of providing quality recreational amenities for our residents and visitors. Our first shelter house was completed in 1948 with a second shelter house built in 1950, the same year the park acquired tennis courts. A third shelter house was constructed in 1952 and a fourth in 1955. Our swimming pool, enjoyed by hundreds of guests each summer was first ready for area residents to enjoy on Memorial Day 1954, along with a lighted softball diamond that year.
Whether it’s swimming, hiking, playgrounds, basketball, or picnic areas, we have it all, so we invite you to come out and enjoy all the recreational fun our parks offer!
