Office Hours

Monday – Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

We also have an in-house garage where we perform maintenance work on all city vehicles and equipment and we operate the transfer station at 45 Rose Street where you can bring bulk items outside of bulk trash collection weeks. We accept remodeling materials and trash/debris from yards, but not brush at the transfer station that is open Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. – noon. Our dedicated team is happy to serve you and your neighbors. We appreciate the partnership we have with you as we work together to keep Martinsville clean, safe and appealing.

  • Standard weekly trash removal from residents’ curbs
  • Trash should be set out curbside by 7:00 a.m. the day of pick up and no earlier than 6:00 p.m. the night before collection
  • All trash put out for collection must be bagged including any loose trash items

  • Tires collected on residents’ regular trash collection day only if sidewalls are cut out
  • Brush collected on residents’ regular trash collection day (except winter)
  • Bulk trash collected the first full week of January, April, July and October on residents’ regular trash collection days (furniture, box springs and mattresses can be placed curbside; no electronics, appliances or building material will be collected)
